A GUIDED walk around the sites mentioned in George Eliot's famous novel Adam Bede will be held on Sunday, September 14.

George Eliot, which was the pen name of Mary Ann Evans, visited Ellastone in the 19th century.

Her fictional village of Hayslope, which is the backdrop for the book, was based upon Ellastone.

The walk will be led by Ed Barker, who wrote an illustrated booklet about the Adam Bede Trail.
