AIR Ambulance charity bosses have issued a statement paying tribute to Only Fools and Horses Star Roger Lloyd-Pack, who died last week at the age of 69.
The actor, famed for his role in the long-running sitcom as well as characters he played in the Vicar of Dibley and on stage, passed away on Wednesday after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
The Air Ambulance Service’s CEO Andy Williamson said Roger was a staunch supporter of the service.
He said: “It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Roger Lloyd-Pack.
“What may not have been as well-known was that he was a huge supporter of both The Children’s Air Ambulance and the local air ambulances.
“Roger attended many events on our behalf and was always willing to help promote the cause and the need for funds.
“He was responsible for raising tens of thousands of pounds for our work and he was the perfect ambassador talking about the vital work we do.
“He will be sorely missed as a supporter and as a friend and he will always be remembered fondly by our Charity. Our thoughts go out to his wife and family.”
