QUEEN Elizabeth’s Grammar School will be closed next Thursday, July 10, as the nation faces the prospect of a massive strike by public sector workers.

The school will be unable to open for the entire day on Thursday, July 10 and school trips have been cancelled for the day.

Parents are due to be notified soon of the closure, which has been prompted by a long-running row between union members and the Government over workload and other issues.

A music concert evening due to take place that evening in the school’s main hall will still go ahead as planned.
