MEMBERS of an online craft community spent Friday in Ashbourne as part of a global gathering.
A group formed under the banner of Etsy.com, an international online community which brings together more than 30 million people who make and sell hand-crafted items, has organised the get-together at Ashbourne’s newest craft centre, Betty’s Sewing Box in Cokayne Avenue.
Crafters, part of the “Pretty Midlands” group, met up to talk about their products and share ideas at an “Etsy Craft Party” one of many taking place around the world.
Team captain, Lyndsey James, who runs product photography workshops, arranged the party in Ashbourne.
She said: “The craft industry is booming at the moment, especially after the recession and this is an opportunity for like-minded people to get together, talk about their products and share ideas.
“We’re all passionate about working in the craft community and celebrating craftspeople and this is the perfect venue for us to meet up.”
