AN Ashbourne lawyer has moved on from his post at one of the town’s legal practices to take up a new role in Uttoxeter.

Graham Elliott, who lives in Ashbourne and ran the Ashbourne office Simpson Jones, has joined Bowcock & Pursaill as a conveyancing manager.

Bowcock & Pursaill, which has offices in Uttoxeter, Leek and Festival Park have 16 staff and Mr Elliott’s appointment will see him dealing with all aspects of property law including commercial leases.

He said: “I Will be helping with private client conveyancing, but I’ll also be looking to build up the commercial property side and managing that process for business clients.

“Ashbourne and Uttoxeter are very similar in terms of what people want, which is a regular friendly face who they can come in and talk to about all their legal matters.

“While the recession saw a slump in new housing, this market is now enjoying an upturn - we’re certainly beginning to see the green shoots.”

Out of the office Graham enjoys country pursuits and horse riding, and has been involved in judging local events.
