RESIDENTS in Ashbourne and the surrounding areas are being encouraged to have their bikes and tools security marked as part of a campaign to tackle shed and garden burglary.

Officers from the Ashbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team will be heading out on the road to speak to people about the steps that they can take to protect their property.

The team will be at Fairways Garden Centre in Clifton between 10am and 1pm on Saturday.

They will be handing out crime prevention advice around protecting sheds, garages and outbuildings and residents will be given the opportunity to have their bikes and tools security marked in a bid to deter criminals.
