NETBALL could be back on the agenda for women in Ashbourne as part of a scheme aimed at helping people get back into the sport.
Ashbourne Leisure Centre will be hosting “Back 2 Netball” sessions for six weeks starting next month.
Described by organiser Wendy Foxon as being suitable for those netball lovers who haven’t played for a few years, the sessions will be an opportunity to learn new skills.
Wendy said: “There will be lots of women out there who don’t play anymore.
“Maybe they are new to our area, had a family or haven’t returned due to injury some time back, and the idea is to let our area know that anyone of any ability can come along to any of the sessions as a re-introduction to the sport.
“Lots won’t have played since leaving school and it doesn’t take much to relight that interest.”
The games will be on Sundays, from 10am until 11am, and will cost £3 per person. The first session will be on September 14.
Participants must be over 16.
