DAVE Barrie Junior's superb early season form continued unabated at Ashbourne Golf Club with yet another win, in the prestigious Rosebowl Trophy.
Ashbourne resident Barrie carded an excellent 40 points in the first division of the event to win the trophy by one point from another Ashburnian Alex White, who just pipped Steve Walwyn on the back nine.
Dave Bainbridge was fourth, a further point back with 38.
The division two winner was Neil Haines, from Mickleover, with 36 points.
He took the honours on countback from Andrew Gallimore, with Andy Robb one back in third place alongside a number of others also on 35 points, including past captain Tonty East, Phil Rowatt,Matt Hackett and Simon Spencer.
In the third division, the winner was Nick Walker with 39 points, one ahead of new overseas member Kevin Blissett, who lives and works most of the time in France, with Clive Gibbins another point back in third.
Derbyshire Dales councillor Spencer also hit the headlines, being one of three members who have scored holes in one in recent weeks, the others being Steve Hall and past ladies' captain Pat Weetman.
