Best cafes in Ashbourne - according to you!

FACEBOOK users have been nominating their favourite cafe in Ashbourne and the News Telegraph has compiled a top 10 of the most popular.

Fans of our Facebook page swept in to hail their favourite spot for a coffee and a bite to eat in the town and topping the list out of more than 170 votes was Cafe Impromptu in Church Street.

The cafe, which has been open around two years, was closely followed by the Market Place Flower Cafe in second place and Bramhalls Deli Cafe in third place.

Cafe Impromptu owner Jane Snell said: “It really means so much to us all to have been chosen as the top café in Ashbourne.

“It’s even more of an honour knowing that it’s all local people who voted – so thank you to each and every one of you.

“We do try very hard to offer a friendly, personal service to customers, and over the years many have become regular faces, and even friends.

“We appreciate everyone’s custom here, and feel it’s important to make all our clients feel at home and relaxed, so they can enjoy a pleasant break from the everyday stresses and rushing around.

“My husband David does all the cooking, and he takes great care to work out fantastic menus based on the season’s availability, and I think our customers enjoying knowing there will be something different to try every time they come in.

“We are both really grateful to people who took the time to vote for us, and feel very honoured to have come first.”

Our Facebook page, which has more than 1,400 “likes”, provides a regular feed of news, opinions and pictures as well as healthy debates about the topics that matter to the town.

This week and next week we’ll be asking our Facebook followers which is their favourite pub in the Ashbourne area and we’ll reveal the top 10 next week.
