SKI sisters Isobel and Elektra Brown both took third place finishes in two top events over the weekend.

In race five of the British Indoor Grand Prix series in Castleford, Isobel was third in the under-16 group to put her in good heart for the European Indoor Championships the following day.

Isobel led the field after the first run but dropped back to third with a mistake after the hairpin.

Fifteen-year-old Isobel, from Ellastone, was still delighted with such a strong performance in the slalom, which is not her best event.

She has recently earned selection for the senior England ski team in ski cross and moguls and is currently British overall ladies moguls champion and under-18 ladies British ski cross champion.

Younger sister Elektra, 11, finished third in the under-12 category and is an alpine specialist, finishing fourth in a major French national race with over 950 racers recently.

Elektra is the under-13 British ski cross champion.

The next top competition for the sisters will be to represent Great Britain at the Lowlands Indoor Championships, Belgium, next month.
