HULLAND Films is inviting Ashbourne families to take a journey back in time with their latest showcase offering.

The Railway Man, rated 15, starring Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman will be showing at the Hulland Ward and District Millennium Village Hall on Saturday, March 15.

Based on his autobiography, The Railway Man is the true-life story of railway enthusiast Eric Lomax, a timid World War Two veteran who meets and marries a former nurse, Patti.

When Eric begins hallucinating and grows distant from her, Patti decides to find out what happened to him.

She learns that the young Japanese officer whose actions are haunting her husband is still alive and faces a terrible decision.

Should Eric be given the chance to confront his tormentor? And will she stand by him, whatever he does?

The film starts at 7pm.
