CLIFTON could find no answer to all-rounder Kyle Heyns as they were beaten by 92 runs by Eckington in Play Straight Cricket Division One of the Derbyshire County League.
James Barnes (3-62) left Eckington in early trouble at 34-3 after they had opted to bat first but Heyns' 61-ball innings of 53 rallied them.
Even though Campbell Ogilvie finished with 4-61 for Clifton, a target of 217-8 was always likely to test them.
The Clifton reply could hardly have got off to a worse start as Heyns (3-24) and Tom Dawson (2-22) left them in trouble at 7-4.
Matt Yardley (42) and Liam Brewell (22) restored some hope with a fifth-wicket stand of 45 and there were runs down the order for Tom Hilton (26) and Ogilvie (16).
But Clifton were finally bowled out for 125 in the 41st over as Adam Leonard's 4-26 kept them under pressure.
