I am: funny, happy and loving
Three things I like:
Shrovetide, marshalling and my family.
Three things I don’t like:
Olives, anchovies and snow.
Up’ard, all the way.
Born and bred:
I’m an Ashbourne person born and bred.
My mum and dad are Jenny and John Dawson, I have a sister in Canada, Lisa Coates and two brothers Craig Dawson and John Dawson.
I’m married to Andrew and we have a daughter, Kirsty, 22, and four sons, Matthew, 19, Joseph, 17, Thomas, 14 and Oliver, six.
We also have two dogs, a Jack Russell called Tilly and a chihuahua called Daisy.
I work in customer services at Homebase.
I am best at:
Being a mum.
When my daughter Kirsty had her two children, Amira and Elliemay and when my son Matthew climbed Everest with the army cadets in 2010.
There’s loads of proud moments being a mum of five.
My ideal holiday:
Kenya, on safari. I love elephants. I want to bath one.
Steak and chips, a bit of salad on the side as well, but it’s not essential.
My mum inspires me a lot and my friend Helen Fearn because nothing ever gets her down.
If you ruled the world:
I wouldn’t change anything.
It’s all down to free will, so unless you take that away and have complete domination, then you can’t change anything.
Don’t let them grind you down.
