Name: Ralph (pronounced Rafe) Wilson.

Age: 42.

Lives: In Youlgreave.

Married: No.

Children: Not yet.

I am: I’ve always loved acting and I still sometimes appear on stage with the comedian Arthur Smith as his “idiot nephew”. I also play cricket for his team - impressively named the ‘Dusty Flemming International Hairstylists XI’.

Three things I like: Sport, positive people, music.

Three things I don’t like: Rudeness, milky tea, roast lamb.

Up’ard/ Down’ard: Up’ard.

Born and bred:

Born in Chesterfield Scarsdale Hospital and grew up in Youlgrave. I can’t imagine a more privileged childhood than growing up in the Peak District.

Family matters:

Well, having just moved back to the Peak District, I’m hoping to adopt a dog from The Ark in Ashbourne. My mum also lives in Youlgrave and has and endless list of ‘Tall Jobs’ for me to do.

Work: I started a Peak District photography website a few years ago but other work took me to London. Now that I’m back, I’m heart and soul into capturing the best of the Peak District in video and stills with aerial and traditional photography at www.peakscapes.com

I am best at:

I like to think I’m a pretty decent cook.

My ideal holiday:

A music festival in Turkey called Sunsplash. It’s a week of great music, people, sun and scenery.

Favourite food:

Sunday roast.

Inspired by:

A cliché, I know, but my dad. He instilled his passion for the Peak District in me. I spent many happy hours walking with him. He was an RAF pilot, Chairman of DCC and the Peak Park Planning Board and he loved the Peak District.

If you ruled the world:

Every day would be the first day of spring.

Epitaph:

Well, that was fun. Let’s do it again some time.
