TELEVISION presenter Davina McCall is due to cycle through Ashbourne as she takes on a gruelling challenge for this year’s Sport Relief.
The annual charity campaign is calling on the people of Ashbourne to follow the 46-year-old’s progress and turn out in support as she passes through as part of a seven day ordeal dubbed Davina - ‘Beyond Breaking Point’.
She plans to run, swim and cycle more than 500 miles from Edinburgh to London and is due to pass through Ashbourne on Wednesday morning.
Her route was scheduled to see her turn up in Edale on Tuesday evening before she sets off early for Birmingham, passing through the town on the way.
Speaking ahead of her back-breaking journey, Davina said: “My Sport Relief challenge is like an Iron Man on steroids. I have to propel myself without an engine from Edinburgh to London! My head is in the game, I am focused, and I’m going to do it.”
