PRIME Cattle- Auctioneer: Charles Hollis

One of the biggest markets this year with an exceptionally good trade - total entries just short of 200.

OTM section had the highest average compared to the six other local markets and an unbelievable average compared to Market Drayton.

Our average 30 pence more p/Kg which is equivalent on average to £180 per head more.

Clean Cattle section had twice as many entries with an overall average of 189.57p/Kg and average of 196.4p/Kg for Steers and Heifers.

The forecast for next week, it will be worthwhile giving us a call.

Smart cattle will be wanted but it is likely that lean Holstein bulls will not be easy to sell.

Special entries this week from J A Warner, Markfield had an overall average of 237.07 (£1096.84), W A Stretton & Son, Etwall Av 221.62 (£1370.32), H R & N Faulconbridge, Berkswell Av 217.52p/Kg (£1174.61), L Faulconbridge, Allesley Av 209.95 (£1108.56) and J V & K E Belfield, Ashbourne Av 204.91 (£1298.31).
