Due to popular demand, visitors to Intu Derby will get the chance to experience the great British seaside as the centre will be playing host to its very own indoor beach for the second year running.

The seaside event, which will take place between Monday, August 4 and Sunday, August 10, will be offering shoppers all the joys of a summer jaunt as well as lots of free fun during the extended week of activities.

Complete with golden sand, buckets and spades and deck chairs, the Intu Derby beach will be the perfect place for both adults and kids to chill out.

Kids will be entertained with the theatricality and silliness of slapstick comedy and novelty routines from Punch and Judy. The old-time seaside favourites promise to capture the imaginations of nostalgic parents and grandparents too.

Tania Vesty, marketing manager at Intu Derby said, “The beach was one of our most popular centre events last year so we’ve decided to bring it back for an entire week.

“Customers can roll up their sleeves, make the most of the indoor beach and relax in style on one of the iconic stripy deckchairs, the perfect way to chill out on a summer’s day.”

The beach will be open to visitors from 10am until 4pm daily and 11am until 3pm on Sunday. Punch and Judy shows will be taking place on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 11am, noon, 2pm and 3pm.

The beach is located on level 2 next to Eat Central.
