WHEN I was younger (many, many moons ago ...) Quality Street was a Christmas favourite in the Kay household.
The fight for the favourites began once the tin had been opened and if you weren’t quick all that would be left would be the gold penny and the orange cream. Everyone’s favourite was the Green Triangle (with the Purple One a close second) and we had to wait until Christmas to be able to rummage in the tin (which always came in useful for home economics at school once empty).
Now Quality Street is available all year round and this latest addition to ‘The Street’s’ stable puts a new twist on an old favourite. The arrival of a delicious new Green Triangle chocolate dessert pots is perfect to celebrate National Chocolate Week.
A tempting combination of thick, creamy milk chocolate laced with Green Triangle’s signature smooth hazelnut taste, the dessert provides spoonful after spoonful of indulgent pleasure – you only have to ask some of my colleagues at work.
Not one to keep the samples all to myself (although I’m still not sure how or why I was talked into sharing them), the general consensus of those who indulged with me was:
“Mmmmmmmm. Rich, creamy, chocolatey velvet with a hint of an after taste of hazelnut. Perfect for a little afternoon treat (smiley face). Can I have another?” Erm, no!
“That was nice, that was!”
And “I didn’t want the pot to end. I think Christmas has come early.”
An After Eight version is also available and I think this may be next on my ‘to try’ list.
Available from Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco. RRP £1.19 for a pack of two and RRP for a pack of four.
