FOUR members of the Ashbourne Tennis Club junior section have been selected to take part in the My Tennis training programme at Loughborough.

They were all offered places on the coaching programme, which takes place at the LTA performance centre on the Loughborough University campus.
The three boys were joined by Fraser Cooper in the first match of the season for the Ashbourne Under-9 'A' team and beat Chesterfield 12-8.
The senior section's summer season is now also in full swing.
Ashbourne men's' first team have been joined in Derbyshire Division Two by the men's second team.
The opening match of the season saw these two teams battle it out at Ashbourne's courts at the Peak Gateway Leisure Park.

The mixed first team lost 5-4 to David Lloyd.
In the first round, Emily Bailey and Andy Bailey won their match but the team went down 2-1.
The second round saw Ashbourne win three out of three to establish a 4-2 lead overall, with Debbie Lynam and Steve Hulme, and Catherine Bailey and Nick Pinfield winning their games.
Unfortunately, the final point needed for victory eluded them.
