THE winner of a recent Fairtrade quiz has been announced.
The quiz was organised by the Fairtrade town group to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight.
Oscar Blurton won a goodie bag stuffed full of Fairtrade treats having got full marks in the quiz.
Stuart Green, spokesman for the group, said: “Judging by the entries, the most difficult question was about the cost of Fairtrade tea bags.
“Readers may be surprised to learn that each supermarket Fairtrade tea bag only costs about 2p, roughly the same as the price as ‘unfair’ tea bags.
“Despite this, many people thought that a Fairtrade tea bag would double or even triple the price of normal tea bags.
“Entrants to the quiz correctly identified that Fairtrade doesn’t, however, guarantee bank holidays will be work-free!”
