Hi! I’m Charlotte Wildblood, or 'Lottie', a born and bred Staffordian currently at university in ‘the big smoke’ studying English Literature and Language. Despite being the tender age of nineteen, it seems years since I started my first fashion blog as I have been interested in style for as long as I can remember and have always used my attire to express myself.
From the very beginning
If I had to pick a point in my childhood where I realised my love for fashion, I would probably focus upon the times in which I would raid my mother’s scarf collection and create ensembles in which I would parade around the kitchen, clacking as I attempted to walk in a surreptitiously borrowed pair of heels which were far too big for me and leaving behind me the iconic scent trail of Chanel Number 19. Over the years, my style has developed from acknowledging the layering trend, aged three when I insisted upon wearing at least six skirts at once when leaving the house, to wearing killer heels in the vain hope of proving to myself that ‘pain really is beauty’.
Staffordshire Street Style
Having immersed myself for years in a plethora of fashion magazines, often spending hours avoiding school work in an attempt to discover the perfect outfit or to scour the pages of the latest publication as soon as I heard its ‘thump’ on the doormat. I love looking at the runway collections and the outrageously priced designer items. However, my focus on this blog is to reflect on the people of Staffordshire’s style and look at how the big trends can be translated into day-to-day attire. I will also look at what trends are featuring heavily in Staffordshire’s street style and show different ways to nod towards these trends. Although there are many of the ‘big names’ lining the high street, I am also going to hunt down some independent shops which may house little gems, encouraging the Staffordshire fash-pack to look to these more individual places to complement their wardrobes.
As a student, I have a fairly limited budget which implies that I will often spend much of my time hunting for similar pieces which will not leave me penniless for the rest of the month. These finds often prove that it is unnecessary to splash out to dramatic extents in order to look your best. I am hoping to feature many outfits from people living in and around Stafford which will demonstrate how street style can be created on any budget, ranging from students to tweens to the business elite.
Looking good in Staffordshire has never been made so easy!
