ORGANISERS have all pulled together to make sure this year’s late night shopping event was one of the most vibrant yet.
Hundreds of shoppers poured in after the normal business closing time to enjoy perusing the Christmas gifts on offer, while being entertained by a lantern procession, a live nativity, street entertainment and stalls.
New to the event this year was the town’s much anticipated carnival, which added an extra touch of festive sparkle to the Christmas spirit.
Mayor Steve Bull said: “Overall, I think the whole night was a success. I thought there was a great atmosphere and I’d like to thank the people that worked hard to arrange everything.
“I really hope it’s helped show a lot of people what Ashbourne is about and helped to change the fortunes of some of our retailers this Christmas.
“The hope is that if people liked what they saw they will be back to spend money with some of our businesses over the coming weeks and keep Ashbourne buzzing.”
