A FOLK group are to perform at Clifton as part of a fund-raising drive for the village church.
The Travelling People are a folk trio from South Derbyshire and the band has been performing for around 40 years.
The group will perform at the Clifton-Smith Village Hall on Friday, March 8 at 7.30pm. Group member David Perkins, who is also the Canon Precentor at Derby Cathedral told the News Telegraph: “We play a variety of music from traditional through to contemporary. But most importantly we are there to entertain and give the audience an enjoyable and memorable evening.”
The Travelling People pride themselves on giving a truly acoustic performances, preferring to allow the natural sound of voices and instruments without the aid of a PA system. The evening, which includes a hot supper, is a fund-raiser for Holy Trinity Church. Guests can bring their own drinks and more information is available by telephoning 01335 343749.
