THE gold rush has begun! For this weekend only, while celebrating the Bullring’s 10th anniversary, shoppers will be dazzled by more than £100k worth of solid gold bars on display in Rotunda Square, courtesy of local brand Cadbury.
As well as the chance of winning one of the bars, worth up to £22,000 each, shoppers can get up close and personal to have their very own picture taken with the bars for the chance to win additional prizes on the day, from chocolate to cinema tickets.
A Cadbury game show host will be entertaining the crowds with gold-related quiz questions and inviting passers-by to admire the gold bars and tweet to #unwrapgold for a chance to win.
The weekend’s activity in Birmingham – the home of Cadbury – celebrates the launch of the Cadbury Unwrap Gold promotion, in stores now across the country. Chocolate lovers everywhere will get the chance to win their Cadbury chocolate bar sculpted in 18ct gold.
Whether you choose a tasty Twirl, a creamy Cadbury Dairy Milk, or a delicious Double Decker – this is your chance to be a winner!
During the Unwrap Gold promotion, eight special Cadbury bars will contain a chocolate bar wrapped in gold foil, with the lucky finders winning a real gold replica of that bar.
Winners will also receive a consultation with a gold advisor on how to store or how to sell their winning bar, the exact value of which depends on the size and shape of the chocolate bar it is based on.
There is also a one in eight chance of winning secondary prizes from cinema tickets, to bars of new Cadbury Marvellous Creations or new Cadbury Crispello Vanilla Velvet.
Nina Meusburger, senior brand manager for Cadbury said: “Birmingham has a special place in our hearts as being the home of Cadbury, so the Bullring is the perfect place to launch our national tour with these unbelievable solid gold bars.
“We want everyone in Birmingham rushing to see the gold bars to try their hand at winning a host of prizes.
The solid gold bars will be at Rotunda Square, Bullring, in Birmingham on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22.
