FRANK Marshall was all smiles on Captain's Day at Ashbourne Golf Club.
He won the Captain's Prize with a superb net score of 67.
Over one hundred members played and they were welcomed at the first tee by captain Bernard Bembridge.
The sunny conditions were perfect for golf, although all of the competitors were grateful for the refreshments at the 'halfway house' served by the captain's daughters Alison and Donna and vice captain Martin Tunaley, who is gradually recovering from knee surgery.
The course was beautifully presented by head green keeper Richard Walker and the first division winner was Simon Griffiths from Cubley with a level par gross 71 for a net 69.
The winner of division two was Sean Fernihough with a net 71.
Club President Frank Mc Cabe struck a blow for the mature golfer with an excellent net 67 to win the third division.
The day was followed by a barbecue for members and their families and donations to the Captain's Charity during the day amounted to over £500.
