WHILE the few weeks of glorious sunshine was definitely a much-needed addition to the summer, the fact that I couldn’t sleep through most of it put a bit of a downer on it all.
Even with every window open, there was still no air in my little house and so it was a case of going to bed as early as possible and hoping for some sleep.
I know I wasn’t the only one who was suffering — and I feel a right misery for moaning about it because last year we had no summer at all.
But I believe I may have found a solution to my sleepless nights, although the sunshine seems to have disappeared these last couple of weeks.
The Sleep Patch-It isn’t just for long hot summers, it’s ideal for anyone who has trouble sleeping.
The patches are specially-formulated with a calming blend of organic essential oils including bergamot, bitter orange, sage, basil and, my favourite of all, ylang ylang.
There are two patches in each protective wrapper and when removed each one looks rather like a large plaster. Apply one to the sole of each foot before going to bed and let the essential oils work their magic.
I found there wasn’t a problem with the patches staying on the soles of my feet, but if they do come off during the night, simply wear a pair of socks to keep them in place.
Not an attractive look in summer but not really noticeable during the winter when wrapped up all cosy in pyjamas.
It is recommended that the patches are used for three consecutive nights and 10 consecutive nights every month as part of a long-term maintenance programme.
To be honest I noticed a difference on the second night — especially when I almost slept through my alarm!
