AN ASHBOURNE hair salon has been hailed as the best in its group for the third year running.

Sally Montague, in St John Street, was singled out as the best of the hair group’s six salons, trumping its sister branches in Derby and Duffield.

Stylists from the Ashbourne salon were also handed accolades at the group’s awards, which were held last month at the flagship salon in St Peter’s Churchyard, Derby.

The awards set out to identify the salon stars that have excelled in their roles over the last 12 months and encompass 18 categories including Most Improved Art Team Member and Best Salon Team’.

Director Sally Montague said: “Our in-salon awards is one of my favourite events of the year as it entitles us to praise and commend each member of the team for their dedication and loyalty to the Sally Montague Hair Group.

“I am extremely proud of everyone from each of our six salons and it’s the perfect opportunity for me to say thank you for their exemplary service to the brand during the past 12 months.”

Aside from the Ashbourne branch scooping its third Best Performed Salon award, it also won retail salon of the year and a string of staff from the town were handed awards.

The Most Improved Stylist was awarded to Imogen Godwin, who won a set of GHD Irons.

Best Newcomer was Holly Leeming who won an OPI set.

Manager of the Year award for outstanding leadership went to Charmian Ransby who won a hamper of products.

And the Customer Excellence Award was given to Sarah Clarke who won products from the Kerastase brand.

The awards night culminated in a meal at the Seven Restaurant at Pride Park in Derby.

All 54 team members took home an ultimate hairdressing party bag, containing Cloud Nine Magical Potion and products from Kerastase and GHD.
