ASHBOURNE families are being invited to get messy this half term holiday making bird food and exploring the countryside with outdoor challenges.

The National Trust’s Ilam Park is offering an Outdoor Challenge Trail, 11am to 4pm daily from Saturday, February 15 until Sunday, February 22 and hands-on Brilliant Birds activities from 11am until 3pm on February 18, 19 and 20.

National Trust visitor engagement officer, Zoe Stevens said: “February is an ideal time to give the birds a helping hand by providing tasty treats for them in gardens.

“It is also a great time to get outdoors and explore as a family.”

The Outdoor Challenge Trail costs £1 per trail sheet; the Brilliant Birds activities cost £2 per child.

No booking is required.
