PUPILS and staff at Kniveton Primary School invited Harrington Nursery School, from Derby, to spend the day with them, to strengthen links and allow the children to learn about the many different ways Easter is celebrated.

The pupils took part in a service held at Saint Michael's Church in the village, had a decorated egg competition and joined in an egg hunt on the school field.

Kniveton head teacher Lynn Board said: "It was a great day for everyone involved. The highlight was hearing the Harrington pupils saying how lovely our children had been with them."

Harrington nursery head teacher Wendy Colebourne said: "It was a day about friendship for all of the children. The day has been a lovely experience for them. They enjoyed the journey to Kniveton, the location, making friends and socialising.
