Waste collection is in a mess

IT IS with great interest that I read in this week’s Telegraph ‘contractor sorry for bin collection fiasco’ and in my opinion, they should be sorry.

I live in Sudbury, and the first time that this company collected the dustbins, rather than returning them to houses, they left them by the main road.

The following week the residents of Gibb Lane had to play ‘find the bin’ and, to top it all, they have yet to collect (at the time of writing) the green and blue bins from the previous week.

The green, blue and roadside food caddy have stood, on the edge of my property, waiting to be emptied, for nearly a week now.

However, I should not complain, as there are people in Sudbury, who have yet to receive their new bins.

Our sympathy must go out to those manning the helpline, what a thankless job it must be trying to sort out someone else’s mess, all because this contractor cannot get its act together.

What is annoying about all this is that the service we enjoyed before these people took over was excellent.
