THE Central Operatic Society is set to bring an American B movie to the stage in Derby.

Little Shop of Horrors will be at Landau Forte College from Tuesday March 5 to Saturday 9.

Florist’s assistant, Seymour Krelborn, is increasingly desperate for a way out of his life in Skid Row and a way to win the heart of his beautiful, tragic colleague, Audrey.

When he finds a strange and unusual plant, Seymour starts to help florist Mr Mushnik turn his business around and impress the lovely Audrey.

Naming the plant Audrey II, Seymour struggles to hide the secret apetites of his new-found horticultural phenomenon from another world.

But, when Audrey’s boyfriend, the sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello shows his true colours, so does Audrey II.

This comedy horror rock musical is based on a movie from the 1960s which was re-made By Alan Menken and Howard Ashman featuring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin.

The stage production features a host of memorable numbers, including Downtown, Suddenly Seymour and Somewhere That’s Green.

Little Shop of Horrors marks the 81st year of performing by the Central Operatic Society and tickets for the event are £8.50 and £10.
