NEWLY-CROWNED league champions Ashbourne Aztecs Under-10s were held to a 2-2 draw by Littleover Dazzlers.
A tough first 10 minutes in defence for Alfie Allcock, Sam Keeling and Luke Griffiths saw the Littleover-based team dominate the opening spell.
And they nearly scored direct from a goal kick, but the ball was superbly tipped over by Griffiths.
A neat move then led to the hosts scoring the opening goal with a slick move.
Battling hard and creating chances in midfield, George Rushton and Max Williams struggled in the wind and the half-time score remained 1-0 to Littleover.
On a quick counter-attack, Littleover doubled their lead five minutes into the second half with a fine finish from their centre forward.
The Aztecs management now had to change tactics and push two up front in Kian Walwyn and Max Williams to try and grab a goal back.
This duly arrived when Dylan Hinde struck a fine shot from outside the box into the back of the net.
A further spell of pressure rewarded Aztecs with a flurry of corners and it was from one of these that Walwyn netted to bring the scores level with five minutes to go.
The match could have gone either way, with Sam Keeling clearing a goal-bound effort off the line.
Littleover then missed a one on one with the last kick of the game to give the Aztecs their first draw of the season.
Player of the Match was awarded to Barnaby Hart on his debut which, combined with his hard work in training, was richly deserved.
