Living with Britain's cheapest car: Day Five

I HAD a bit of idle time today and decided to go on the web to play with some numbers, in relation to the Dacia Sandero.

Over the weekend I worked out that, for the six grand it would cost to buy a brand new Dacia Sandero Access - the bottom-of-the-range model I'm driving - you could also have a two-year-old Kia Picanto.

Not only would this still have a five year warranty intact but it would also have some of the creature comforts I'm missing such as air conditioning, central locking and maybe even cruise control.

But not everyone wants a second hand car, so I also thought about logging on to the Dacia website and using its car configurator to see how much it would cost me to get a Sandero - which is a car I'm quite fond of - with all the bits I think it's missing.

Without being too frivolous, I accidentally specced up a nice blue one to an eye-watering £12,880. Oh dear.

This either means I'm a bit of a snob and can't live without life's luxuries or options are very expensive on the Sandero.

I'm thinking it's probably a bit of both.
