Ashbourne hair dresser Angel Montague Sayers has been shortlisted for The Fashionista title at a prestigious national hairdressing awards.
Angel, who works at Sally Montague Hair Group, in St. John’s Street has been nominated for one of five categories, competing with four other contenders.
The event is called The It List and is a competition that recognises the best hairdressers aged 30 and under, focusing on emerging young stylists.
Angel, 22, will be heading to London for the finals which are run in partnership with Creative HEAD magazine and also hair product manufacturer GHD.
The awards evening will be taking place on Monday, September 3, at Royal Courts of Justice with a celebrity host at the helm.
Catherine Handcock, publisher of Creative HEAD, says: “It has been so exciting looking at the entries from all these young hairdressers, you get such an insight into the creativity, innovation and passion they pour into their work.
“The future of British hairdressing is in very safe hands.” The entries are judged by individual panels of hairdressing experts and professionals including Diana Donaldson from the London College of Fashion Graduate School, and 2011 Creative Talent winner from Trevor Sorbie, Johanna Cree Brown.
