THIS week, News Telegraph readers were asked to nominate the best place in Derbyshire to take the kids during the summer holidays.
Votes were collected from our Facebook page, Twitter and over the phone, and this week’s winner is Lunar Lift-off in Ashbourne.
The family entertainment centre, based in the Airfield Industrial Estate, offers families the perfect place to enjoy a day out, with plenty of toys and games to keep the kids entertained, plus free wifi, a licenced bar, restaurant and cafe for parents.
Owner Claire Mason, who set up the company almost five years ago, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to have been voted number one.
“It’s been a really emotional roller-coaster recently, and at once stage I contemplated closing up for good – so this is a very welcome boost and sign that we are offering what people want.”
The centre is open every day during the school holidays, from 10am until 4pm, and also offers children’s parties and special events.
Once the schools go back, the centre will offer different opening hours, and further details can be found online at www.lunarliftoff.com
Claire said: “I’m a mum-of-two myself, so I try and offer families somewhere friendly and fun.
“A cup of coffee and a slice of cake with time to chat to other mums is a great way to relax, knowing the kids are having fun playing in a safe and stimulating environment.”
