ASHBOURNE’S MP, Patrick McLoughlin is due to visit one of the town’s manufacturing firms on Thursday in his capacity as the Government’s Secretary of State for Transport.
The Derbyshire Dales MP is due to spend part of the morning at Master Mover, in the Airfield Industrial Estate, which has invested heavily in the global exporting of its range of electric tugs.
Mr McLoughlin is due to tour the hi-tech factory, which manufactures tugs used to move heavy loads in manufacturing, retail and healthcare environments.
Managing director Andy Owen said: “We’re delighted to welcome Mr McLoughlin as both our local MP and as Secretary of State for Transport.
“We pride ourselves on our Ashbourne roots and the majority of our workforce lives in the Derbyshire Dales constituency. “We are a growing business and keen to discuss with Mr McLoughlin how we can create further job growth in the region.
“With his interest in transport, I’m sure he will be fascinated to learn how our tugs are helping companies across Britain and beyond to get their goods onto the road in a safer and more effective way.”
