A TWENTY-SIX year old man has been airlifted to hospital after his car rolled over in the Peak District.
The incident happened last Friday on a road just outside Monyash.
Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) were tasked to the incident to provide a rapid transfer to the nearest major trauma centre.
The crew left their base at 11:52am and landed at the scene 15 minutes later.
On DLRAA’s arrival, the patient was still in the vehicle, which had been heavily impacted in the incident.
The crew assisted Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service in extricating the patient from the vehicle and assessing his injuries.
He was treated for a head injury before being airlifted to University Hospitals North Staffordshire for further assessment.
The crew landed at the hospital at approximately 12:49pm.
