MEMBERS of Ashbourne Methodist Church have marked Christmas this year by organising a unique take on the traditional nativity story - through the medium of social networking.

Members wanted to share the traditional message and meaning of Christmas using Facebook and it is believed that this is the first time the story has been shared in this way.

During December and into January, characters posted updates of what was happening to them – starting with the Angel Gabriel and ending with the visit of the Wise Men and Joseph’s dream which told him to take Jesus to Egypt.

The story has been read by people from around the world, including people from Zimbabwe, India, Canada and Romania. To see the story visit the Church’s Facebook page or www.ashbournemethodist.org.ukfacebooknativity
