The Ashbourne Neighbourhood Plan is moving forward quickly now. Working with Derbyshire Dales District Council we have discovered that over £3.3 million has been negotiated by DDDC from developers over the last year for social and education investment in the town, to cope with the increased impact that recent new housing will have on our town. Some £1.18 million is earmarked for improving education in the town and the remainder is for new affordable housing. These figures do not include proposed developments at Old Derby Road and on the Airfield site, which are yet to be considered by DDDC planning committee.
We are now working on a regeneration infrastructure programme for the Neighbourhood Plan which will see this investment for the town allocated against specific projects to be planned and built over the next decade. We would like to know your views on where this money needs to be invested to improve our town.
In addition we feel that local people should be involved in saying where money from further developments that impact on Ashbourne should be allocated. Let us know what you feel about this.
