THE Agatha Christie Theatre Company is bringing ‘Go Back for Murder’ to a Derby stage this week, as part of a UK tour.
The show arrives at Derby Theatre from Friday, September 15 and it will run until until Saturday 5 October.
The cast includes Liza Goddard from TV’s Give us a Clue and Bergerac, Sophie Ward, star of Land Girls, Heartbeat, Holby City and Jane Eyre; Robert Duncan, fondly remembered for his role as Gus Hedges in Channel 4’s Drop the Dead Donkey; Gary Mavers, Dr Andrew Attwood in Peak Practice; Lysette Anthony, Woody Allen’s Husbands and Wives and BBC sitcom Three Up, Two Down and Ben Nealon, Jeremy Forsyth in ITV’s Soldier Soldier.
Carla La Merchant has to live with a disturbing family secret; her mother, Caroline Crale, died n prison while serving life for killing her husband.
But on finding a letter in which Caroline claims that she’s innocent, Carla becomes obsessed, determined to clear her mother’s name.
Enlisting the help of Justin Fogg, the son of Caroline’s defense lawyer, Carla tracks down a number of people from her mother’s tragic past, only to uncover a shocking truth.
This new production of Go Back for Murder which follows The Hollow, The Unexpected Guest, And Then There Were None, Spider’s Web, Witness for the Prosecution, Verdict and Murder on the Nile.
Described as a classic ‘whodunnit’ packed with intrigue, murder and suspense and one of more than a dozen plays from the pen of the great Dame Agatha Christie, Go Back for Murder was adapted by Christie in 1960 from her novel Five Little Pigs. Christie has sold over 2 billion books and is outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare.
