A DOVERIDGE based artist has had his work selected for an ‘uplifting’ exhibition at a hospital.
John Rattigan has had his work selected for exhibition at the Royal Derby Hospital, between October 2013 and the end of February 2014.
Together with 10 other shortlisted artists, he has been asked to display six of his large paintings in the public spaces near the surgical wards on the second floor.
Juliet Cooper, arts manager at the Derby Royal, says that the aim of the exhibition ‘is to inspire feelings of wellbeing for all the patients, visitors and staff through contact with high quality art’.
Mr Rattigan said: “It was great to be chosen to show my work at the Derby Royal alongside some well established artists.”
