BUSINESSES in Ashbourne are being invited to take part in a ‘bake off’, a competition inspired by the popular television series.
A cookery school has launched the competition to help firms bring their employees together in the hope it might help improve their teamwork, communication and morale and four people are required for each team.
The competition is free to enter and the teams will start by submitting recipes and pictures that will be judged by Seasoned Cookery School, which was formerly based in Hartington before moving to Alrewas.
Three finalists will then be selected to bake in a ‘Great British Bake Off’ style competition at the school’s new base in Alrewas in October, judged by Brendan Lynch, 2012 Great British Bake Off finalist.
The winning team will win a prize package worth more than £5000, including a team-building day with the school and a range of bakeware from Pyrex.
Seasoned Cookery School’s founder, Clare Major said: “Cooking is an excellent team building activity as it includes everybody within the team.
“With a little expert guidance and the help of team-mates the result is always a success, with a lovely atmosphere throughout the day.
