PLANS to resurrect the Ashbourne Carnival have had to be put on the back-burner after Ashbourne Town Council pulled out of supporting a scheme to bring it back this summer.

  

Self-appointed carnival organiser Colin Beresford met with the Town Council's Environment Committee on Tuesday and a decision was made not to push ahead for an event in June as too much needed putting together in too little time. 

 

Colin, however, remains adamant that a carnival will echo through the streets of Ashbourne again and promises summer 2011 will see a revival of the tradition.
