In Brookside Meadows
The cycle hire centre supervisor at Ashbourne Cycle Hire on the Tissington Trail.
Three things I like:
Cycling, beer and football. I support Derby County Football Club
Three things I don’t like:
Being cold, tired and hungry
Born and bred:
I was born at Derby hospital and have lived in Ashbourne all my life. I went to school at QEGS.
I live with my wife, Jayne and our four cats and two rabbits. My parents both used to run the cycle hire centre so I’ve followed in their footsteps. My sister is Sonja Riley, who runs Diamond Geeza, the barbers in Ashbourne.
I run Ashbourne Cycle Hire and I’ve been working here since I helped my parents out as a school boy. I officially started working for the national park in 1998 and have also worked at their other centres in the Peak District.
I am best at:
Being a nuisance.
My ideal holiday:
A cruise on the Mediterranean
Fish and chips from the Market Place chippy
Who are you inspired by:
If you ruled the world what would you change:
I don’t think in this day and age anyone should be going without food or clean water.
What would it say on your epitaph:
“He was a nice chap”.
