Name: Nick Hansen
Age: In excess of 60!
I am: A Partner at Bagshaws Ashbourne, Chartered Surveyors, Rural Estate Agents and Auctioneers.
Three things I like: Walking, cooking and people.
Three things I don’t like: Bad manners, people’s intolerance of others and hogging the middle lane.
Up’ard/ Down’ard: Neither - but I enjoy the tradition of the game and passion of the players.
Born and bred: Lancashire born and Gloucestershire reared.
Family matters: I’m married with a son and his wife in Brighton, and a daughter and her husband and 12-week-old granddaughter in Oxford.
I have been fortunate to have been involved with the rural community all my working life and I have been based at the Ashbourne Office of Bagshaws since 1988.
I specialise in the sale and valuation of village and equestrian property, farms and land as well as sale by auction of property, cattle and farm machinery.
Ashbourne is an attractive and thriving town to be based in and I have a dedicated team in the office who are equally passionate about service to our clients, many of whom have had a long relationship with the firm, especially my retired partner, Mr Binder, who still comes in for a morning coffee having started at Ashbourne in 1949.
I am best at:
Communicating with people.
My ideal holiday:
The West Country and Italy.
Walking my daughter down the aisle.
My parents and my first boss who was a brilliant auctioneer.
If you ruled the world:
I’d make rugby the nation’s game, more seriously I would try to promote tolerance and consideration of others.
