A DOVERIDGE couple are channelling the style of 80s television outlaws The Dukes of Hazzard for a charity rally across Europe.

Daniel Addy, 28, and his wife Sarah, 27, are dressing up as characters from the TV series and turning their 20-year-old BMW into a replica of Dukes’ favourite, the General Lee.

Starting on Friday the husband and wife team will travel to France where they begin the Dumball Rally — a 2,500- mile journey through Switzerland, Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and Greece.

They will travel for six days in a convoy of 35 cars in a bid to raise £2,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which aims to build a new state-of-the-art unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital.

Sarah said: “This is the fourth year we’ve taken on the Dumball Rally and we’ve always really enjoyed it — it’s such a great way to raise funds for charity and there are such a good group of people.

“We all have walkie-talkies to keep in touch with each other and if anyone breaks down someone will pick them up to get them to the next stopping point, so all the people make it to the end even if all the cars don’t!”
