ASHBOURNE Historian Danny Wells will be leading a course investigating the reasons why people greeted the First World War with enthusiasm and enlisted voluntarily.
The five day course will explore the misconceptions of war in the run up to 1914
The course coincides with the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
As well as researching First World War memorials there will be a trip to the National Arboretum near Litchfield which may incur a additional charge.
The course will be run alongside the Workers Educational Authority and will run for five Tuesday mornings in October 2013 starting on Tuesday, October 1 from 11am until 1pm at All Saints Church Community Hall in Belle Vue Road.
