See our market advert for comparisons with other markets as you will see tremendous trade for OTMs with Friesian cows averaging at 157p/kg and exceptionally good trade for the clean cattle section, particularly since the quality was not quite as good.
The highlight of the day was from an entry of continental bulls from GH Paddock, Stone, these realised 234p/kg (£1602.90) Av 221p/kg (£1583.98).

A genuine show of farmers stores again this week and a cracking good trade throughout with numerous bidders.
Breeding Cattle sold at £1190 for a Limousin cow (5 years) and for a Limousin steer calf (3 months) from D A Waring, Burton.
Steers topped at £1140 for a pair of Charolais (17 months) for K L Mrvik, Draycott who also sold a Simmental (16 months) at £900. Friesian steers sold at £1030 (27 months) and £890 (26 months) for Steve Hough, Drayton Bassett.
Heifers saw only a few on offer, but a Saler heifer (25 months) changed hands at £775 from G A Bull, Findern.

An excellent entry of 838 sheep forward this week included 636 finished lambs. Meated lambs in demand regardless of weight with a top of 200p/Kg for a Beltex X from Mr D Thornley. Best lambs grossed over £88/head with a market average of 170.79p/Kg up on most other local centres this week.

In the cull ewes 42 on offer saw a pen of Texel ewes peaking at £88 to average £55.67.
The first sale of store sheep of the season saw a total of 160 on offer which were mainly breeding ewes. The best sorts attracted brisk bidding with some excellent prices recorded.
