Easter fete and craft day

Written byNATALIE WAKEFIELD

RAISING the awareness of mental health issues will be part of an Easter fete at a rural garden centre.

Doveleys near Rocester is the venue for a fete held by the Art and Soul Friendship Group, on Saturday, March 30.

Tina Hughes is a trustee at Art and Soul. She said: “We are very excited about the event, we have tried to make it as traditional as possible with the Easter Bonnet Parade.

“We have the Morris Men dancing and even ‘picnics in a bag’ rather than fast food. Doveleys have been very supportive.”

The event will include lots of craft stalls from jewellery, to decopatch, with Art and Soul having items on sale made by members of the group. For the children there will be a bouncy castle, a craft tent, hair braiding, temporary tattoos, Easter Egg hunt plus lots more.

They will hold a traditional Easter Bonnett Parade, all entrants welcome.

Lee Hudson of Doveleys said “Doveleys is pleased to be working with art and soul for the Easter fete. Mental health is an important issue that needs more recognition and art and soul are making great and important strides in helping people with issues.

“We are happy to provide our facilities for the event and hope that the day will be enjoyed by all.”
