Equine event raises £56

Written byNATALIE WAKEFIELD

A RAFFLE has helped raise £56 for the British Horse Society.

The charity, which campaigns for the improvement of the lives of horses across the UK, held a special equine day at the Countrrywide store in King Edard Street, Ashbourne.

Information about the society and its efforts to help both people and horses, was provided to customers at the store as part of an awareness drive, while funds were raised by a raffle and refreshments.

The effort raised £56 and the volunteers are set to return to Countrywide later this year for an open day event at the firm’s new premises.

The raffle, for a year’s BHS membership, was won by Rachel Talbot.
